Thank you Oprah for K.F.C. LUNCH

here we are just about to EAT IT ALL UP.....thank you Oprah!!!
One happy grandma and one happy grandson, Gabe Brown.....
Sarina took this picture....I love my sweetheart Tomasi.
While Laura was still at home with little Danny Cinco Boy, Sarina came over to Dan's house and she got this "lunch on Oprah" coupons. Sooooooooooo we went to K.F.C. and got boxes and boxes. THANK YOU OPRAH FOR LUNCH. We had so much fun at the Spanish Fork City Park. and yep, we ate it all. These boys will eat their parents out of house and home later on. Dan has been planting a garden.
Poppy up close....how lovely, eh?
I could not resist this bed of perfect tulips. this is at the front of the library.
Cosins playing in the tree.....they know their roots.....
and the flowers on the side of the Spanish Fork Library.
Is this not a super darling line up?
the line up of 8 boys.....4 of Dan's and 4 of Sarina's.YOU can see there that I did NOT take this picture. yep, I got a little stuck in this little triangle of this dome jungle gym.....Sarina took this picture, put it on the fam's site and I swiped it, put it on my desk top and the Steen blogger queen friend I have down the street........... taught me how to put this picture in the order that I wanted it. whooooooooopies, Irene is also going to become a blogger queen. ha ha ha.

I climbed in one of the triagles to take a picture of my grandsons playing up here....thinking it to be a cute picture......here's Michael, Dan's oldest (5) and he says, "hurry up grandma, I gotta go pee" (that's what I get for getting stuck in one of these triangles.......taking too long to get in to take the picture, ha ha)
These playgrounds are so great for kids....and the rest of us as well.
This is Isaiah, Sarina and Misi's oldest. He's 6.
Sarina and Everett, her youngest of 4 darling boys. She is surely the queen in her house.

sweet short visit from Sara Tukuafu.

I must be more out in the sun then she is.....Sara is Isi and Michelle's oldest and she's attending Utah Valley State University. what a pretty head on her shoulders, eh?

Sara thought she couldn't come this Saturday night, so she came over and we talked and talked and talked.

Fantastic Mother's Day before Mother's day

I had bought some tubes of bubble blowing stuffs and had so much fun doing this for the kids and grands....I love blowing bubbles, now there's all sorts of $1.00 gagits I can get to do this fun adtivity............those that know the song, sing along....."I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air, they fly so high, nearly reach the sky"...........etc.
This is this beautiful park in Springville, Utah that the Saturday party before Mother's day happened at. If you can "blow up" this picture, look at the very interesting rock formations on the mountaisn.....
Felila and myself. I wish I'd had my camera out when all the girls took a phto together. Say Felila, can you add these in this section please.
Sarina, my tallest girl....what a smile..........all have gorgious smiles. the most important thing we put on in the morning is our smile.
My batch of flowers.....the kids loaded up their bikes and went all over this park.
the Scrabble goes on and on....Jim and Nams in the front and Isi beside Jim and Dad, hiding behind his hand.
This was the Saturday before Silly 'o Mother's day. and what a FANTASTIC day I had. Full of family and grand kids of all ages. they brought some big vase and put all sorts of flowers in it for me. Here is Felila and happy grandma here.
This is Felila (mother of 6) and this is Shaleena. she's at such a cute age here. Check out her darling outfit....patch quilt (this would be my choice if I would ever be this skinny) and if you could see her multicolored braces....and what a WINNING smile.
Darling Shaleena is 13.....a brillant girl with much joy to be around...in fact, she's also a great cook. Truly, she wants to go into being a professional Chef and be schooled in it as well. Amazing young woman to see so far in advance what she'd like to study in College.
Here is wonderful Isi and Tomasi and Namahana playing (you guessed it SCRABBLE)
In the forfront is Misi Brown, (Sarina's dear husband and two grandsons. Jesse Tukuafu is Rose's son right in back.....He's showing off Danny boy....he's wonderful with the little kids.

our #5 son, has his #5 son on 5/5/2009

Well, here's Daniel Finau Tukuafu and his 4 older boys with their grandpa, Tomasi.
and this is Daniel Finau Tukuafu (the second) and Dan is left handed, but plays the Bowed Psaltery I made for him VERY WELL....we had many "jam sessions" with autoharp and dulcimer.
as you can see here.....and this little Danny Boy just takes it all in.
I wonder what any of these treasured boys will become.
I could not resist this beautiful mother and sleeping baby "Cinco boy". FIVE is sure his lucky number.

Putting up bird stoppers.

Our dear friends, Betty and Vern Ka'aiakamanu came up to see our progress on our place. We've been friends with them the whole time we've been here and now for Eternity. He's Hawaiian and she's a haole like meself. ha. He was the only Hawaiian, and Tomasi the only Tongan............and they played and sang music together. We shall miss them when they move back to Idaho at the end of this month. They'll be back to stay in our guest room.
Vicki is sitting on the ground up above here looking at the roof line and we realize that the second roof line would be too flat and there would develop problems with snow and and wetness in the winter time. bummers. The way it was first drawn up, it didn't look like this..but reality is reality. I could see the same thing. We were going to have 5 small windows up there, but not now. Jack also saw this and all three of us decided that the lower roof needed to be at or near the same pitch as the round yurt part of the house.
You can see this from here more clearly........The men are putting on "bird stoppers"
On this picture above, you can see the area in back of the house that we'll be having our bedroom and a bathroom with a little door out the back.......I'm thinking it would be good to have a shower outside for washing off when working in the garden? We'll have a little bathroom that will have a shower and etc....with a stackable washer/dryer..........I've never had this kind of arrangement, have any of you? Vicki and others think it's great.....
Here, on the left, we'll have our kitchen. the window to the left, will be over the 6 foot cast iron sink that we got on our travels last summer.
If we put the roof on this part as planned, it would be almost flat, and that's not good for this part of the country, and we'll have some skylights in these areas as well. One right over our bedroom to look at the stars at night, cool, yeah?
Two guys are working on this right now, one on the fork lift deal that Jack has, and the other climbing up and around on the ladder. They have only 7 more pieces to go to be totally complete with the kit part of the roof.
I told this guy, Rodger, "hey, I would not have recognized you on the street, you cut your hair and so did your buddy on the fork lift".,,,,,,yeah, "you keep taking pictuers, we might as well look good"......I'm laughing, as often I say, "smile, you're in this one"......
and it's hammer jang on the flat place on the roof. These guys will be working another job for 2 weeks and it's perfect for us as Vicki will be gone on another short job in Washington, D.C. and off to Utah as well for her Nephew's wedding. I'll be gone to Utah for #46 grandbaby being born. whooooooooooopies. We both leave tomorrow and we still have tons to do.

hey, want a lift????????

When Dave Hardle of Nauvoo Log Cabins here in Nauvoo found the ad for the logs that I bought, it came with a FORK LIFT here. Nope, Dave doesn't want it as he has his own way to built his log cabins...........always an ongoing project and he loves being creative. I don't know what these go for, but it's gonna be up for sale. I thought I might need it for building our house, but we used the fork lifts that Jack has.
ha, I never thought I'd own a fork lift for any reason. fun taking the pictures.

circle is completed

I was wondering how she was going to have this lovely big opening for my kitchen and still have the sides go up for the meeting of the round house and beams. WELL, NOW you see it and walllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaa. On the left side will be my hidden refrigerator. I'm going to have and Island inside this kitchen with the last of the big beams.
A little better shot showing the upper wall portions. yes, there will be small windows up here as I'm going to have a little mezzanine for my grandchildren to come and sleep .....sorta like a tree house with a wild staircase going up made of drift wood. Vicki and I are still designing as we go along. this is the reason the walls were 12 feet tall, to accommodate a mezzanine.
Folks, you can see a cable in the middle of this picture. There were to be TWO cables and one was missing.....but all is well. We've solved that problem. but a cable had to be here to pull every side in and then the roof will be put on from this place. Another cable will be hidden from view WITHIN the beams near the end. It will NOT be seen. You can see the cable knot here.
this tower is THREE stories high and then a wooden platform and then the BIG HULA HOOP.
yes, ALL THE BEAMS ARE IN. WHOOOOOOOOOPIES. the Hula hoop is five feet across. It was made special from SMILING WOODS YURTS in Twisp, WA. the spacing between the beams at top is TWO INCHES at the outer parts it's 22 INCHES..
MAKING SURE that every beam is exactly where it should be. Other metal parts are also hammered down as well. extra precautions Vicki takes.
When I came to take these pictures, I told the men there that I pray every day for their safety and that I'm grateful that they know how to climb up there and do all of this work. I am sooooooooooo grateful.
What a view these guys have up there, yeah? Weird weather. First we have weather that goes up to 70 degrees, and this day, it was back burrrrrrrrrrrr cold again. as you can see the hats on and heavy coat. Yet, they kept working. We had a lot of rain in these parts, in fact, there was some flooding in surrounding areas....soooooooo I've been grateful that we've had a little umbrella over our house for the completion every day of goals set and done.
